Rogers Communications customers are currently experiencing a service blackout today. The problem is nationwide and is affecting Roger’s cell phone services. As well, the Rogers website seems to be experiencing an outage as well. We have been told data does not appear to be affected.
Service has been down since about 3:30 Pacific Standard time.
As well, Fido customers are being affected with this blackout.
At the moment, Rogers has confirmed the outage is affecting Ontario and Quebec, but no word yet on other parts of Canada.
Rogers has issued this statement to Jordan’s Tech Stop:
Our wireless customers are currently experiencing voice service interruptions. Data services do not appear to be affected. We apologize for the inconvenience and we are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.
Customers and cities alike have posted about the outage to the company on their social media accounts.
And some companies used this as humour as well!
We will have more information as the situation develops.
