Instagram users complained on Twitter last night about a hack involving pictures of smoothies and fruits being posted to their account.
“Last night a small portion of our users experienced a spam incident where unwanted photos were posted from their accounts. Our security and spam team quickly took actions to secure the accounts involved, and the posted photos are being deleted,” Instagram said in a statement to Business Insider.
The hack involved pictures of smoothies and fruits along with a URL attached to the user’s bio. The picture describes about a new diet and others should try it by clicking on the URL provided. Once you click on the URL, the security breach happens.
Users have reportedly been locked out of their accounts even after users reset their passwords.
A word of advice, if you see smoothies in your Instagram newsfeed, do not click on the URL.
