Flexishield produces cases for the Nexus 4 as well other smartphones, and the S-Line is just one of the many they offer for this device. It certainly has a nice design, but there are some issues that may detract some consumers from buying.

The Flexishield S-Line is made of silicone, which gives it decent protection. The backing seems to be made of 2 materials, the silicone as well as a softer material. On both sides, it features some grips, which makes it easy to hold when picking up the phone. Some issues I have with cases is that there are no grips on the side, but with the grips the Flexishield S-Line includes, I wouldn’t worry about it falling out of my hands. The back of the case features a double black colour, making an “S” shape in the back, hence describing it’s name. The “S” is almost similar to what we see in the Samsung Galaxy lineup. The TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) design allows the flexibility of this flexible casing, and also brings a harder protection.

The case features cutouts all the major features and ports of the phone. The case features cutouts for the camera, micro-usb port, 3.5mm headset jack, as well as microphones.

The phone comes in only the black colour option from Mobilefun. The black design is nice, giving 2 contrasting black colours. As previously mentioned, it creates this “S” shape in the back, which elevates the design. I would like to see more colour options, as it would suit the taste of more consumers.

For the casual user, this case would be great. Some people only require minimal protection for the backing of the phone. However, if you wish to be more protective of your phone like me, I would go for a harder case. Although it also includes a small ridge at the front to protect it from falls, I would like to see it just a bit thicker to improve the protection.

This case is priced at a reasonable $12.99 from If you’re on a budget and looking for a case for everyday use, this purchase would be good for you.

Here are some pictures of the case:

Overall, this case is decent. I really like the S design on the back of the case, as well as the fantastic grips on the side of the phone. The TPU design is really secure, and the case doesn’t feel that cheap in your hands. However, I would like to see a more hard and secure model of this case possibly, as some consumers may like this option better. However, for most consumers, this case would be a decent choice.

RATING: 7.5/10
