At today’s Google event in San Francisco, Google unveiled new details on the highly rumoured 2nd generation Nexus 7.
The new Nexus 7 is 2 millimeters thinner than the original, and lighter than the original as well.
The new Nexus 7 has the same display size, but goes to a 1920 x 1200 display from a 1280 x 800 display. This means it has an HD display. It has also gone from 323 ppi from 216ppi. As well, the Nexus 7 now has stereo speakers, developed by Fraunhofer.
The tablet now features a back camera at 5.0MP, with a 1.2MP camera on the front.
It will come with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 1.5GHz processor speed. It also features NFC, and wireless charging. It is also compatible with Bluetooth 4.0, and can support 4G LTE.
The battery life has improved as well, with 9 hours of HD video playback, and 10 hours of web browsing.
The tablet will come with Android 4.3.
The tablet will come in 16GB Wi-Fi version, 32GB Wi-Fi version, and 32GB 4G LTE version. It will be available in the USA next week.
