On March 14th, Samsung will be holding their annual Unpacked event. The featured product? We’re almost certain that it will be the Samsung Galaxy S4. But what will this new phone bring? Here’s our thoughts and predictions:
Bigger & Better Screen:
The S4 could have a bigger screen of 4.99 inches. It could also feature 1080p resolution. That’s a massive screen, and is an upgrade from the Galaxy S3. The display should not disappointing, and could be even better than the S3 and iPhone 5. It will be interesting to see how it will compare to other smartphones that will enter the market.
The S4 will feature a brand new processor, quad-core at the minimum. We believe it could be an eight-core Exynos Octa chip, which could distinguish it from the smartphone market from other companies. However, it may feature the quad-core Snapdragon version. But only time will tell. But if it is an 8-core processor, it better be more powerful than other smartphones.
Wireless charging would be a nice addition, especially as it may become more common within the next year or so in the smartphone market. It should follow a similar ideology to how the Nexus 4 wirelessly charges itself.
Eye Scrolling Technology:
Samsung’ could include a Smart Scroll feature, according to a series of screenshots leaked by blog site Sammobile. This would allow users to scroll through the screen and perform certain tasks just by moving their eyes up and down. While this would be cool, it may be unlikely.
Get ready for a sufficient camera upgrade. From what we’re hearing, it will feature a 13 megapixel camera. This is a good upgrade, as smartphones are becoming more popular to take your photos. But who can blame us…Instagram is our life in the photo world!
Internal Specs, External Specs & Storage:
So what could be the possible specs? We’re hoping for 2GB of RAM. As well, the storage options will most likely be 16, 32 and 64GB with room for expansion with an SD Card Slot. Recent rumours indicate that the phone will be 140.1 x 71.8 x 7.7mm and 138 grams.
Well that’s the big question? With looking at the recently leaked cases, it seems that it will have a Samsung Galaxy S2 look, but slightly updated. There may be a removable plastic back, with black and white models to sell first. It may also have a metal or aluminium backing.
I’m sure that some of these rumours and leaks will be true, but I feel Samsung does have something up it’s sleeve. We’ll see what they unveil on March 14th, and be sure to check back to JTS for content about the phone!
