A Pokémon Center Concept on the Wii U

A Pokémon Center concept

If you’re like me, I’ve been dreaming of a Pokémon adventure Wii game, not only just on my handheld Nintendo systems. An artist Evan Liaw recently released some of his concept designs recently on his website Pokémon Center could look like if Nintendo made a Wii U game. Look at some of these images:

Looking at these images, they’re pretty awesome. He created the designs using the Unreal Developer’s Kit, with the majority of assets were built using 2 sets of diffuse, spec & normal textures by rearranging UVs. The result? An unreal fantasy that will make any Pokémon fangirl or fanboy drool (me included). But even if you’re not a Pokémon fan, let’s face it, these images are pretty awesome. The detail is quite stunning, and the Wii U concept imagination is just really cool.

However, no matter how awesome this may look, the reality is that Nintendo probably won’t ever release a Pokémon game for the Wii U that’s similar to the handheld versions. However, we can use this to further our imaginations on the future of Pokémon.

  1. Those are some beautiful designs. Maybe it’s just as well that no Pokemon game be released for the Wii U, since the Wii U is getting some not-so-great reviews.
