Chit Chat for Facebook

Chit Chat for FacebookThere are many applications out there today for chatting with your friends on Facebook outside of Facebook. Some examples are eBuddy, and Meebo. But here’s an interesting one…Chit Chat for Facebook. This program is developed by Athena IT Limited.

This is the interface (this is an older version provided by their website. I could not show the new one due to security issues.). The new interface has profile pictures

next to their names, and the option to set a status. If you want to chat to someone, just click their name and a new window will popup. From here, you can manage all you chats. You can set the boldness of text, and you can also choose to underline your text. There is also a collection of smiley faces to use. That’s always nice. And I really like the chat box and how you can have all your chat going on at once.

What is also handy is the push notifications on the bottom right hand side of your screen. It will tell you when somebody is online. It will also show you when somebody is offline (which I’ve rarely seen). It does not give you notifications when somebody chats to you though, and will only make a sound. That was a bit dissapointing to me.

Some things that could improve this is connection to other services, such as Yahoo Messenger and Gmail chat. This feature is in other chat applications like Meebo and eBuddy. Another improvement is to have an italic text selection in their chat interface. This could also use a mobile app for iOS and Android. This could help gain more customers.

Chit Chat for Facebook is a Facebook Chat Messenger that enables users to use Facebook Chat without their web-browser. The Facebook Messenger enables users to save their Facebook Chat conversations (chat history), format their instant messages (use bold and underline) and add smileys to their messages. Additionally, Chit Chat for Facebook supports the ability to send private Facebook mail and Facebook wall posts to many Facebook friends at once. Chit Chat for Facebook allows users to enjoy the convenience and ease of an instant messenger whilst communicating over Facebook Chat.

Overall, this is a good chat program to download. It is available through CNET or on their website here. To install you need Windows 2000 for later, and the download size is 3.2MB.

I give this program a decent 8.5/10. It just needs a mobile app which to me is important and other people on the go. It also needs push notifications for when somebody messages me.

  1. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is great blog. A fantastic read. I will definitely be back.

  2. I’m trying to find out what the most popular blogs are when it comes to news and views and cell phone stuff..

  3. I’m wanting to look at blogs containing music I like, but sifting through all the detached, outdated and crap blogs is a hassle. . I know there are thousands of blogs, is there a good resource to seek out the preferred ones?

  4. How do you find different blogs on Blogger with keyword or search?
