Firefox 6

Oh boy…another big Firefox update. It was just a couple of weeks ago they released Firefox 5! And Firefox 7 is on it’s way soon. Firefox released some new features in this version. Here are some of the ones most noting.

URL Display on Firefox

The URL highlight on Firefox 6

Firefox now has URL display. What this means is they would highlight the domain, like it’s the main attraction. This makes it more distinct. However, this is the exact same feature

URL Display on Chrome

as there is in Google Chrome. I’ve shown Firefox and Chrome URL displays here. Very interesting how they are pretty much the same….

Another feature is a faster load time for starting the browser. But for me, I don’t really see much difference.

There is more support with Firefox Sync. It now more visible. An example is when you type in a login/password for a website. Under “Do you want Firefox to remember your password” is a new box for Firefox Sync. It basically stores your passwords, bookmarks and open tabs throughout all your devices. Use this if you have Firefox Mobile.

Really, I don’t see much difference in this build. If you’re a Firefox User, you can update by:
(1) Click the FIREFOX TAB on the top
(2) Go to HELP
(3) Press ABOUT FIREFOX
(4) Wait for it to update.

  2. I know! Now they’re saying it’ll be every few weeks / months, there’ll be a major firefox version. Don’t know if that’s the right approach – they’ll overtake IE in no time though! 🙂

  3. Goodie! I just updated mine! :)))

  4. Very good written story. It will be useful to anyone who usess it, including yours truly :). Keep up the good work – can’r wait to read more posts.
